Handloom Drapes of
Imperial
Ancestry.
At House of Toshakhana, we curate handloom artifacts of royal provenance. Every drape is an individually numbered heirloom requiring between 140 and 260 hours on traditional wooden looms across Varanasi, Kanchipuram, and Chanderi.
“A powerloom manufactures four sarees in an afternoon. Our master artisan spends three weeks to weave one. We weave exclusively for those willing to wait.”
The Haveli Crimson Katan
Claimed by private patrons in Mumbai, London, and New Jersey.
The Claimed Collection
Every ready-to-ship piece from Edition 01 has entered private collections. Choose any archive drape to inspect its weave reverse or request a 3-to-4 week private loom commission on our upcoming warp.
Flip Your Saree
Over.
No Loose Threads, Only Legacy.
On a commercial powerloom or cut-work saree, the reverse side is a mass of shaved, floating threads that snag on emerald rings and unravel over time.
Every House of Toshakhana drape is hand-interlocked with individual wooden shuttles using the ancient Kadwa technique—leaving the reverse side as clean as the obverse face.
Pure Electroplated Silver-Gold Zari on 3-Ply Katan
Every floral motif is sculpted in relief using tested metallic thread over unweighted pure mulberry warp.
Custodians
of the
Imperial Toshakhana.
In historical Indian courts, the Toshakhana was the sovereign treasure vault where kings, emperors, and maharanis stored their rarest heirlooms—ceremonial gold robes, gem-encrusted sashes, and weaves of unmatched purity. House of Toshakhana revives this courtly standard for modern bridal trousseaus.
Re-Centering the Artisan
We bypass intermediate traders to work directly with Master Weavers (*Gaddidars*) and national awardee artisans in Varanasi, Kanchipuram, and Chanderi. Over 60% of our gross margin flows directly back into artisan wages and cluster preservation funds.
Protected Heirloom Worth
True luxury does not go on end-of-season sale. House of Toshakhana maintains a strict non-discount charter. When you acquire an archive piece today, its craftsmanship and monetary integrity are guarded for your daughter’s generation.
Silk Mark & GI Authentication
Every warp and weft is lab-certified 100% natural mulberry or wild tussar silk by the Central Silk Board of India. We verify genuine electroplated metallic *zari* and hold authorized Geographical Indication (GI) heritage documentation.

Return & Archival Exchange Policy
Last Updated: October 2026 • Mumbai & Varanasi Chambers
1. Bespoke Handloom Nature
Each House of Toshakhana saree is commissioned by hand on a wooden loom over 140 to 260 hours. Because our master artisans weave strictly to order upon reservation, completed bespoke commissions are generally not eligible for commercial cash refunds. However, to ensure absolute patron confidence, we maintain a dedicated Archival Exchange Protocol.
2. Pre-Dispatch Daylight Video Inspection
Prior to parcel sealing, every patron participates in a mandatory 4K daylight video inspection with our Head Stylist. You will review the weave movement, *zari* sheen, reverse *Kadwa* finish, and custom blouse stitching. Parcels are dispatched via DHL Express only after your explicit recorded approval.
3. Transit Purity Guarantee & Exchange Window
In the unlikely event that a parcel arrives with transit seal damage, loom tension irregularities, or a variance from your signed dossier:
- Notify our concierge via WhatsApp (+91 98200 XXXXX) or email within 48 hours of delivery.
- Retain the unbleached muslin bag, numbered Certificate of Authenticity, and intact Silk Mark hologram tag.
- We arrange complimentary, 100% insured reverse pickup via DHL Express or Blue Dart from any residence worldwide.
- Upon inspection at our Mumbai salon, a replacement loom warp or full credit note valid across 24 months is issued immediately.
4. Bespoke Blouse Alteration Guarantee
All custom blouses stitched by our Masterji are covered by our Lifetime Fit Guarantee. If your measurements shift prior to your wedding, return the blouse to our Mumbai atelier for complimentary adjustments.
